Aarti Zaveri is a Delhi-based multidisciplinary visual artist. Born in Gujarat, one of the wealthiest states in India. She spent her childhood with academicians and family members inclined to art and design, which became a passion with age. To further her career as an artist, she joined the illustrious Faculty of Fine Arts. She has also completed a Senior Fellowship Research Project from the Government of India.
The driving force of her works of art
Concepts of diverse artworks often come from topography changes due to rapid growth and modernization and their impacts on ecology. The artwork also reflects her perception and feelings in exploring various places, situations and meeting new people as a contemporary artist. Growing up between machines and nature has impacted her thinking and germinating concepts for artworks.
Moreover, she likes to explore colours, lines, textures, layers, compositions and compositions through artworks. She has used fluidity as an operative in painting. Her famous paintings include Elements of Being, Life, Second Self, and Timeless Moments are a result of playing with emotional and conceptual self.

Describing herself as an artist of the Earth, Aarti believes that the Earth belongs to all beings. The inclusive worldview has helped her move from a studio-based art practitioner to artistic projects in any context and work beyond geographical and linguistic limits. The creative verve helped her evolve into a site-specific artist, video artist, installation artist and performance artist over the years.
The impact of global warming is huge on Mother Earth. The insensitive use of natural resources has led to several problems that may endanger life on Earth. Climate change, pollution, water crises, and environmental degradation are pervasive issues already, and impacting every living being on the planet. Issues arising out of environmental degradation are soil pollution, air pollution and water pollution have shown catastrophic effects on the ecosystem. Nature needs care and revival to preserve the resource for future generations. The Fragility of Habitat and The Cry of Kali River: Do You Care? are some of the prominent works of a site-specific installation artist.
As a responsible citizen of the Earth, she highlights the prevalent issues through her inspiring environmental artworks. She was the Vice President of the Green Aesthetic Organisation called ‘Trees’. This is the turning point of her artistic career when she learned to create nature artwork with objects sourced from the surrounding. She uses creative and inclusive views in artworks to share information on saving nature, soil, ecosystem and water for future generations. The Delhi-based artist loves to reflect all her feelings and concepts with aesthetic installations, sculptures, paintings, site- specific artworks and video art.
Recognition and Accolades
With many solo and group exhibitions in India and abroad, she is a known figure in the field of art. She has won many recognitions and accolades for her artistic work, including the 2017 Seychelles Biennale (Most Prominent Artist Award) and the Award of Excellence from ‘Global Foundation’, New Delhi, 2010.
