Aarti Zaveri is a New Delhi Based multi-disciplinary visual artist. Her diversified works of art often derive from the study of change in the topography as a result of rapid growth and modernization, and reflect the impact of urbanization on our ecology. She expresses these in form of installations, sculptures, paintings, site-specific art works and video art. Overtime her artwork had been increasingly reflective and representation of what she perceives and feels while exploring various places, situations and meeting different people as a contemporary artist in Delhi. Growing up in an industrial town she has lived between machines and nature. This dysfunctional relationship between the two is the root cause of her curiosities. Her works have been instrumental in germinating a conceptual process in her way of thinking and practice of her artistic oeuvre. Her works are an exploration of colours, lines, textures, layers, compositions and processes. And her recent series of paintings that use fluidity as an operative and are an outcome of the interplay between emotional and conceptual self. Winner of Seychelles Biennale 2017, Aarti is associated with “Global Nomadic Art Project” in collaboration with YATOO; a Korean art organization. She is also an active member of the Artist in Nature International Network (AININ) as an environmental artist in India. She recently completed a Senior Fellowship Research Project from Government of India.

Aarti Zaveri identifies herself as an artist of the earth. And also she believes that the earth belongs to all. Taking the homocentric view to a different plane, Aarti functions as an artist of the inclusive world view. This perspective has helped her to move from a studio based art practitioner to an artist who could conjure up artistic projects in any given context transcending linguistic as well as geographical limits. Her creative verve has helped her to evolve into a worth reckoning site specific artist, video artist, installation artist and a performance artist, whose performances take their final form in the videos that she produces.

Born in Gujarat, one of the prosperous states in India, Aarti spent her childhood days among academicians and other family members who were inclined to art and design. She joined the illustrious Faculty of Fine Arts.
