PAINTINGS
Aarti Zaveri’s works have been instrumental in germinating a conceptual process in her way of thinking and practice of her artistic oeuvre. And this process has unearthed a need to further fuel the emotional realm. The need for personal contemplation on one hand and the conceptual nature of her art practice on the other has created a newer understanding of the ‘Self’.
Her recent works are an exploration of colours, lines, textures, layers, compositions and processes. A series of paintings that use fluidity as an operative and are an outcome of the interplay between the emotional and conceptual self.
Using the five elements of nature as reference points, these works are internal monologues that manifest in non representational works and tend to be contemplative and open to interpretation. She feels that ‘conceptual’ and ‘analytical thinking’ are nothing but parallel to ‘contemplative’ and ‘emotional’ thought processes, and although these realms contradict yet they are tangible.
